Measure Instantaneous RPM of an EV3 Motor + Stall Detection

Today’s EV3 programming tutorial will teach you how to make a program that measures the instantaneous rotation speed of a motor attached to your EV3 robot. This program measures the motor’s rotation speed at the exact moment the program is called. The best part is, no external sensors are required; the program uses the rotation sensor built into the EV3 motor and the timer built into the EV3 brick. The program can measure rotational speed in either degrees per second (D/S) or revolutions per minute (RPM). A very useful program for FLL teams. This is an expansion of last week’s video, which demonstrated a program that measured average RPM.
