My Book

In October 2017, I partnered with Packt Publishing to write my first-ever book, Building Smart LEGO MINDSTOMRS EV3 Robots. I have been hard at work on this project for several months and I am thrilled to finally announce it to you!

The book was published worldwide on April 4, 2018. I am confident that you will love the book and you will find it very informative. Many of my viewers have been asking me about the EV3 projects I have made, as well as the design process I go through with each project. If you are interested in my design process and want to learn how to start making your own EV3 robots, then this book is for you!

What is the book about?

My book is a project-based guide to six of my most popular original EV3 projects. It makes a great compliment to my YouTube tutorials because it contains information on topics that I haven’t been able to cover on my YouTube channel. The book contains a complete step-by-step programming guide and mechanical explanations for six of my most popular robots:

What you will learn

Building Smart LEGO MINDSTORMS EV3 Robots explains the mechanical engineering behind each of the six projects and includes a step-by-step programming guide for each project. The first project starts at a low intermediate level, and each successive chapter builds on the knowledge and techniques learned in the previous chapter, giving the reader a structured progression up to the most advanced project. Everything is explained in detail in plain language, and every chapter in my book is held to the same high quality standards as my tutorials.

Each chapter explores several features of the EV3 programming software, so by the time you finish all of the chapters, you will have complete proficiency in EV3 programming. You will also learn all of the mechanical design principles I have applied in the projects, which you will add to your own “toolkit” as you go. Additionally, my book connects the principles used in designing EV3 robots to smart technology used in real-world applications, which will help you understand the smart machines at work in the world today. When you finish the book, you will have all of the knowledge you need to build and program your own intelligent EV3 robots!
