In this EV3 robot design tutorial, I will be explaining what a linear actuator is, what they do, how they work and I will explain four different kinds of linear actuators you can make yourself using LEGO Technic. The first is rack-and-pinion, the second is a pre-made LEGO linear actuator, the third is pneumatic and in the fourth section, I will go over how you can make your own linear actuator with just common Technic beams.
