The proportional line follower is an essential staple in EV3 programming. It is the fundamental line following program to master for competitions such as FLL or WRO. A proportional line follower uses a single EV3 color sensor to watch the line and uses proportional logic to adjust the EV3 robot’s trajectory so that the robot follows the line smoothly. An EV3 proportional line follower program is actually quite simple to make. In this EV3 programming tutorial, I teach you how you can program your own EV3 line follower and I will walk you through all the steps necessary to program one. This proportional EV3 line follower program can even be adapted to use a HiTechnic Color Sensor V2 in place of the EV3 color sensor. In no time you will have your EV3 robot up and running and following the line smoothly!
